What is Cleaning?

• Cleaning: refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. Cleaning does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.

What is Disinfecting?

• Disinfecting: refers to using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.

What to Clean?

High-touch areas such as door handles, phones, remote controls, light switches and bathroom fixtures.
Horizontal surfaces such as counter tops, kitchen tables, desktops and other places where cough droplets could land frequently.
Tables, doorknobs, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks.

Use household cleaners and EPA-registered disinfectants that are appropriate for the surfaces, search for all frequently touched surfaces areas at home or at your business.

Use the Right Product.
First, clean dirt off the surface. Then wipe the surface with special disinfectant.

Leave the surface you are cleaning wet with disinfectant for as many minutes as the product instructions require. This is a key step that people often miss. It’s not enough to just wipe a surface with a rag dampened with disinfectant!

Disinfecting for COVID-19

It’s unclear exactly how long COVID-19 can remain on a surface. Early evidence suggests that the virus can survive for several days at room temperature. Wiping down commonly touched surfaces helps to prevent the spread of illnesses like COVID-19 and the flu.

Disinfectant Wipes
Most disinfecting wipes claim they can kill up to 99.9% of germs. If used appropriately, they may be effective against COVID-19. Make sure to follow the instructions on the label. It’s important to clean a visibly dirty surface to rid it of dirt and debris before disinfecting.

Electrostatic Spraying

Electrostatic spraying of disinfectants and sanitizers is new to the cleaning industry, but it is not new technology.  Electrostatics have been used quite successfully in spraying of paints and coatings.  It is highly useful for coating complex shapes with a highly uniform film with little or no overspray.  Farmers have used electrostatic sprayers to apply pesticides to crops because of the ability to cover the top and bottom of foliage to insure complete crop protection.  Electrostatic technology insures hidden or shadowed surfaces get covered with highly uniform film.  Often, up to 1/3 less solution is used to cover equal areas because waste is minimized.

Disinfectant with Fogger
Fogger canisters are a quick and simple way to disinfect a room. Disinfectant foggers reduce or eliminate microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, fungus, mold and mildew. The canisters are activated by pressing a button on the canister, which releases a fog into the room. The fog covers everything, disinfecting and deodorizing at the same time.

A one-time “deep clean” is not effective in these days, you need to use disinfection products to prevent the flu virus and COVID-19
